The 9th Georgian International
Oil, Gas, Energy and Infrastructure Conference and Showcase GIOGIE 2010 will take place at a new venue - the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, Tbilisi, Georgia on 24-25 March.
GIOGIE traditionally attracts over 150
delegates from 15 countries. GIOGIE is officially supported
by the Ministry of Energy of Georgia, Ministry of Environmental Protection & Natural Resources, British Georgian Chamber of Commerce (BGCC) and Georgian Oil & Gas Corporation
(GOGC).
Georgia is a strategic
crossroad for hydrocarbon transit in the Caspian region. The country
has experienced significant growth since the new democratic government
came into force. The main directions of the energy policy are energy
security, diversification of gas supplies, reconstruction of hydropower
plants, construction of underground gas storage facilities, attracting
foreign investments and privatization.
